You need to ask permission to go outside and play
To have a snack or watch TV or skate on the driveway. But
there's one thing  you can do without anyone's OK.
No one needs permission to be awesome.

You might be super smart, or you might be really nice.
You can be the best at helping without being asked twice.
Everyone can be outstanding at something they do.
Cause no one needs permission to be awesome!

You don't have to be a genius or a star
Just be the very best of who you really are!

Some shine at making music; some shine at making art.
It doesn't really matter if you do it from your heart.
So find the thing that you can do that makes you the best you.
Cause no one needs permission to be awesome!
